Linux/Mac/Mobile phones/PDA

Teachmaster is a true Windows software. On this page you find useful hints for running the software on other operating systems. If you know other ways to achieve this, it would be nice if you could send me a message.

With the free virtual machine VirtualBox you can run the Windows operating system within Mac OS X or Linux (among others). Of course you will need a Windows installation CD afterwards.

Linux

With the free Windows emulator Wine you can use Teachmaster with Linux without any problems (have a look at some screenshots or the entry in the Wine AppDB).

Mac

The software CrossOver Mac from the company "CodeWeavers" allows to run Windows software on a Mac (requires Mac OS X with an Intel CPU).

The software Parallels Desktop allows to run any operating system on a Mac simultaneously (with Mac OS X).

Mobile phones

The open-source software Embedded Teachmaster is a port for mobiles phones (JSR 172 required).

SmartVoc can open and learn Teachmaster files with an iPhone or iPod Touch.

PDA

Vocabulary Cards, which is independent from Teachmaster, is a free vocabulary learning software for a Palm PDA.

Other Teachmaster users are currently planning to develop a special PDA version for Teachmaster. Further information will be available here as soon as possible. You may also find this forum thread interesting.

If you want to contact the developers of the PDA version, please use this email address: pda@teachmaster.de
